Shanghai Ninth People’s Hospital, formerly called Bethel Hospital, was established in 1920. It has been built into a comprehensive medical institution featured with stomatology, plastic surgery and orthopeadics, which conducts teaching and research while providing medical treatment.
The hospital possesses 2150 beds,1000 chairs for stomatological treatment. It also has 5 academicians of Chinese Academy of Engineers: Professor Zhang Di-sheng, Professor Qiu Wei-liu ,Professor Dai Ke-rong ,Professor Zhang Zhi-yuan and Professor Fan Xian-qun.
The hospital has been an education base for the School of Stomatology, Shanghai JiaoTong University and School of JiuyuanClinical Medicine. In the past decades, the hospital has made brilliant achievements in clinics, education and scientific research and acquired good reputation both at home and abroad.
