Important Documents & Valuables: Please keep your passport and other important documents and valuables safe. It is advisable to carry your student ID card and a copy of your passport with you daily, as these serve as valid identification both in Shanghai and on campus. Unless necessary, avoid carrying large amounts of cash.
Personal & Information Security: Please remain vigilant against calls, text messages, and online links from unknown sources to guard against scams. If you travel away from campus, be sure to secure your important belongings, and before departing, check to turn off the power in your dorm room and close all doors and windows.
Emergency Situations: In any emergency or dangerous situation, please first call the police immediately, and then contact the International Students Office. The teachers will provide you with necessary assistance and support without delay.
Daily Convenience: Getting Around & Everyday Life
The metro is the most efficient and convenient way to explore Shanghai. The city currently has an extensive rail transit network covering the entire municipality. The area surrounding the Huangpu Campus is extremely well-connected:
Metro: Close proximity to "Site of the First CPC National Congress • Xintiandi" Station on Lines 10 and 13, as well as "Madang Road" Station on Line 9.
Bus: Numerous bus routes (such as 986, 974, 933, 932, 95, 36, Tunnel Line 8, etc.) have stops around the campus, providing easy access to various destinations within the city.
Financial Services
Numerous bank branches are located within walking distance of the campus, making it convenient to open accounts, make deposits and withdrawals, and handle other transactions. Examples include: Bank of China (9-11 Taikang Road), China Construction Bank (118 Ruijin Second Road & 245 Madang Road), Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (700 South Huangpi Road), and others.
Communication Services
You can easily purchase a local SIM card and activate convenient communication and mobile network services at mobile phone carrier stores near the campus, such as: China Mobile (372 Hefei Road), China Unicom (33 Yongjia Road), or China Telecom (760 Xietu Road).
