Biography

Dr. Fei Li completed two postdoctoral trainings in developmental behavioral pediatrics and cognitive neurobiology respectively. As a senior visiting scholar, she worked at Harvard University Boston Children's Hospital and Wisconsin Children's Hospital, focusing on children's cognitive and behavioral problems. She has rich experience in clinical practice, as well as in the three-level prevention and treatment of Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and their common comorbidities (such as eating disorders, obesity). Meanwhile targeting at the clinical barriers of these neurodevelopmental disorders, she carries out translation-driven scientific research with multidisciplinary approaches, such as neuroimaging, neurotoxicology, epidemiology, nutrition and so on. She has identified a series of risk factors of these disorders, illustrated their exposure-outcome mechanisms, found out biomarkers for early detection and intervention, and actively established and implemented a set of novel intervention programs based on the principle of “integration of medicine and prevention”. Nowadays, she is the director of MOE-Shanghai Key Laboratory of Children's Environmental Health, Chief Physician of Department of Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics & Child Health Care at Xinhua Hospital.

In the last few years, Dr. Fei Li published up to 57 SCI papers as the first or corresponding author. Her research results were published on the high-profile journals in the neuroscience, psychiatry and pediatrics fields, such as Nature Communication, American Journal of Psychiatry, Molecular Psychiatry, Cell Reports, Science Bulletin and Pediatrics, which were frequently cited by the top journals in the areas of neuroscience and medicine, including Trends in Neurosciences, American Journal of Psychiatry. The highest citation of a single article is 332 (google scholar). The findings from her group have been collected in the Chinese Clinical Guidelines of ADHD, international textbook - Clinical Neuropsychology, the SAGE Handbook series; it also provided strong scientific evidence and has contributed to the updated policy statement of Apgar score in American Academy of Pediatrics Committee (APP) and American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists Committee on Obstetric Practice (ACOG). She was invited to draft the Chinese Clinical Guidelines of ADHD and to write previews in New England Journal of Medicine. She was invited to give keynote speeches at the World Congress on ADHD and the International Neuropsychopharmacology World Congress, she was served as co-executive chairwoman and gave keynote speech at Xiangshan Conference -Innovative Exploration of Autism and Alzheimer. In addition, she was awarded as NSFC Distinguished Young Scholar, NSFC Excellent Young Scholar, Leading Talents of Shanghai, Outstanding Youth Post Expert, Shanghai Dawn Scholar, Shanghai Outstanding Academic Leader, the Medical Tree Award-Clinical Innovation Category, and the Honorable Doctor of China - Young Talent.
