In order to implement the requirements of the "Healthy China 2030" Plan Outline and the "Guiding Opinions of The General Office of the State Council on Accelerating the Innovation and Development of Medical Education" (2020) document No. 34, further improve the level of pediatric medical education, innovate teaching concepts, and optimize teaching methods, on the morning of September 23, The 5th Oriental Pediatric Medical Education Forum hosted by the School of Pediatrics, Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine opened on the 2nd floor of Yide Building, Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine.

Pediatric medical education should not only pay attention to the ability training of pediatric medical students and pediatric medical workers, but also pay attention to the reform and innovation of educational mode, educational resources and educational means.

President Sun Kun delivered an opening speech for the conference. He said that since the "Eastern Pediatric Medical Education Forum" was founded in 2019, in the past five years, the School of Pediatrics of Shanghai Jiaotong University Medical School, as the organizer of the forum, has been aiming at "platform construction, resource integration and development", actively helping the construction of pediatrics in China, deepening the reform of pediatric education and teaching, and further promoting the training of pediatric professionals.

At the opening ceremony, the organizing committee of the conference awarded honorary certificates to the winners and outstanding organizations of the "Course Ideological and Political Case, CBL and Simulation Teaching Teacher Competition" of the conference. At the same time, the awarding ceremony was held for the 16 pediatric single disease clinical research centers that had been established by the School of Pediatrics.

The main venue continued the previous "brainstorming" sessions, "elite pediatric medical education" in the form of a roundtable, Sun Kun, Jiang Yuwu and other famous pediatric teaching experts with their own growth stories, work and life perceptions, scientific research thinking, teaching and education to summarize the experience of pediatric medical education, put forward reflections, and look forward to the future.

The conference lasted for two days, and excellent pediatric education and teaching experts from universities and scientific research institutions across the country carried out keynote speeches and interactive discussions on new ideas and new methods in pediatric medical education.
