Dr. Song has been focusing on the study of the mechanisms and applications of cancer or metabolic disease associated signaling pathways for many years. He was recruited as a subject leader by school of public health, Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine in 2017. In recent years, he is interested in the dysregulation of signaling pathways induced by exterior factors, such as risk factors from food and environment, and internal factors, such as abnormal gene functions, and their implications in the imbalance of nutrition and health as well as the onset and progression of cancer or diabetes. In these studies, he aims to reveal the underlying mechanisms through which nanomaterials or intracellular regulators manipulate the key signaling pathways essential for the maintenance of tissue homeostasis and stem cell microenvironment. These work will help to form strategies or find targets for personalized prevention and precise interference of critical illness such as cancers, metabolic diseases and neurodegenerations. He received the “one hundred talent” grant with priority support from the CAS and the “excellent youth” grant from the NSFC. As the corresponding author, he has published 22 papers that are indexed by SCI in recent years, with an average impactor factor of 8.5.
