仁济医院建于1844年，是上海开埠后第一所西医医院。是一个学科门类齐全，集医疗、教学、科研于一体的综合性三级甲等医院。医院目前由东西南北四个院区和上海市肿瘤研究所组成。医院东、西、北三个院区目前总核定床位1650张，南院核定床位600张。医院设有54个临床医技科室。截止2019年12月，医院共有正式职工3458人（不含南院），其中正、副高级职称专家477名；博导126名、硕导173名。医院连续两届获得 “全国文明单位”称号、连续十四届获“上海市文明单位”称号、连续十一届获“上海市卫生计生系统文明单位”称号。
医院现拥有3个国家级重点学科、5个国家“211”工程三期，12个国家临床重点专科建设项目，3个上海市重点学科。5个上海高校“一流学科”，上海市“2011协同创新中心”培育计划，2个上海市“重中之重”临床医学中心和临床重点学科，1个上海交通大学医学院临床潜力学科，2个上海市临床医学中心，3个上海市临床质量控制中心，5个上海交通大学临床专病诊治中心，上海市产科心脏病监护中心，上海市委重孕产妇会诊抢救中心，上海市首家人类精子库，1个国家重点实验室，1个卫生部内科消化重点实验室，2个国家中医药管理局中医药科研实验室，1个国家药物临床研究机构，3项上海市公共卫生三年行动计划，3个上海市重点实验室，1个上海高校重点实验室，4个市级研究所。
近年来，医院申请到的科研项目及专利逐年递增，包括国家级的973计划、863计划、国家自然基金（重大、重点、创新研究群体）项目等。医院还获得多项国家科技进步奖、中华医学科技奖、高等学校科技进步奖等；先后共有几百人次入围各级人才培养计划，包括973首席科学家、万人计划领军人才、国家杰出青年、卫生部有突出贡献中青年专家、上海市领军人才等。医院与加拿大、英国、美国、法国、比利时、德国、瑞士、挪威、澳大利亚、马来西亚等近十个国家的二十多所医学院校建立了学术交流和友好合作关系。
Brief introduction of Renji Hospital
Renji Hospital, founded in 1844, is the first hospital practicing western medicine in Shanghai. With four campuses respectively in Eastern, Western, Northern and Southern Shanghai and the Shanghai Cancer Institute, Renji Hospital is a municipal hospital with a comprehensive list of medical and surgical disciplines, devoted to patient care, medical education and scientific research. All together, there are currently 1,650 authorized beds in three campuses(east, west and north), and 600 authorized beds in the South Campus. By the end of 2019, the hospital has a staff of 3,458(excluding the South Campus). Among them, 477 staff holds senior academic titles, 126 are doctoral supervisiors, 173 are master-supervisors. There are 54 clinical departments in the hospital. The hospital has been awarded "national civilized unit" for two consecutive times, "Shanghai civilized unit" for 14 consecutive times, and "Shanghai civilized unit of health and family planning system" for 11 consecutive times.
