上海交通大学医学院组织胚胎学与遗传发育学系成立于2017年6月26日，由原解剖学与组织胚胎学系中的组织胚胎学学科，原分子发育生物学研究室、原发育生物学研究室及原医学遗传学教研室重组而成。金颖研究员任系主任，张明亮研究员、黄雷研究员和伍静文副教授任副主任。
作为上海交通大学医学院的重点发展方向之一，组织胚胎学与遗传发育学系，在科研布局上力求契合现代再生医学发展的新趋势，综合生命科学、基础医学、化学生物学、生物医学工程及材料科学等相关研究领域，聚焦生殖医学、干细胞生物学、发育和遗传相关疾病三大领域。科研方向将从配子发生、胚胎早期发育到遗传疾病的发生发展；从干细胞干性维持和定向分化等重要生物学问题的机制研究，到基于细胞重编程、基因编辑、单细胞测序和3D培养等技术的疾病模拟和药物筛选。将围绕关系国计民生的关键科学问题和关键技术，着力解决生命早期发育及相关重大疾病的机制研究、技术开发和临床转化问题。
我系坚持积极引进和培养杰出人才，现已经初步形成了一支结构合理、具有较强科研实力和创新能力的人才队伍。截至2019年12月，我系形成了8个研究团队，共有教职员工35人，其中正高7人，副高11人，54.3%具有博士学位。其中包括科技部重点研发项目负责人1人，国家杰出青年科学基金获得者1人，教育部长江学者特聘教授1人，教育部 “新世纪优秀人才支持计划”2人，上海市优秀学科/术带头人2人，上海市领军人才2人，上海市“曙光学者”2人，上海市“浦江人才”4人，上海高层次人才计划5人。累计在包括Nature，Cell Stem Cell，JCI，Blood，Cell Res，Dev Cell，PNAS等在内的国际一流杂志上发表研究论文多篇。
本系将为促进基础医学院学科发展，学科间的相互交流与融合，教学形式和教学内容的改革方面做出新贡献，为培养卓越医学人才奠定良好基础。并面向海内外学者，积极招聘有志从事生殖医学，遗传学，发育生物学及干细胞生物学的优秀人才加盟。
Department of Histoembryology, Genetics and Developmental Biology
Established in the June of 2017, the Department of Histoembryology, Genetics and Developmental Biology (DHGDB) combines following original departments in the Basic Medical College: Histoembryology, Molecular Developmental Biology Laboratory, Developmental Biology Laboratory and the Teaching and Research Office of the Medical Genetics. Dr. Ying Jin is the director of the new department. Drs. Mingliang Zhang， Lei Huang and Jingwen Wu are the deputy directors.
Following the latest international medical research trends, as one of the major research directions in Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, DHGDB has drawn strengths in a series of cutting-edge basic and translational research areas, including life science, basic medical research, chemical biology, material science, and focuses our scientific research on reproductive medicine, stem cell biology, developmental biology and genetics, exploring the mechanism underlying gametogenesis, embryonic development, and genetic diseases. Supported by state-of-art core facilities/platforms of cellular reprogramming, gene editing, single-cell genomics, and 3D/live cell technology, our scientists have made every effort to work against the devastating illness, perform the disease modeling, and develop the novel drugs. Our mission is to decode biomedical knowledge and bring the patient perspective to our work.
DHGDB has attracted and retained distinguished scholars who are committed to teaching and academic pursuits, with 35 faculty and staff members at present, including 7 full professors and 11 associated professors, and 54.3% percent of them are Ph.D or M.D. By the end of 2019, we have one project leaders of the Key Research and Development Projects of the Ministry of Science and Technology, one Distinguished Young Scholar funded by the National Natural Science Foundation, one Cheung Kong Scholar Chair Professor of the Ministry of Education, two owners of the New Century Excellent Talent Support Program of the Ministry of Education, two Shanghai Outstanding Academic Leaders, two Shanghai Leading Talents, two Shanghai "Dawn Scholars", four Shanghai "Pujiang Talents", five Shanghai Program for High-Level Talents Introduction. So far, DHGDB has published numerous research articles in internationally highly respected journals, including Nature，Cell Stem Cell, JCI, Blood, Cell Res., Dev Cell, and PNAS.
The department will continue to make contributions to the development of the Basic Medical College, interdisciplinary communication and integration, to the reform of teaching methods and contents, which will build a solid foundation for cultivating outstanding medical talents. Meanwhile, we are open to scholars at home and abroad, recruiting qualified talents, who are interested in the research in the fields of reproductive medicine, genetics, developmental biology and stem cell biology.
