After the first year’s pre-medicine study, NO MORE THAN 30 of the 60 students will be selected to enter the four-year OSJSM UGME program.

Selection

Selection Criteria:

1. Successful completion of pre-med year (Minimum GPA of 2.7 of 4.3 for all courses, minimum GPA of 3.7 (Converted by u-Ottawa Faculty of Medicine) for 3 premed courses: Organic Chemistry, Cell Biology and Biochemistry.
2. Successful completion of TOEFL ≥90 before the interview.
3. Completion of the CASPer test
4. No record of violating school policies and regulations

Time and procedures:

The selection process starts at the end of the second semester of the first academic year. The school will make the selected candidates’ list according to the selection criteria and submit to the OSJSM Interview Committee for final interview. After the interview, the OFFER LETTERS will be related to the candidates who meet the requirement.

Before the interview, candidates will be required to submit a detailed autobiographical sketch which  include the following general categories:

• Formal education
• Employment
• Volunteer activities
• Extracurricular activities
• Awards and accomplishments
• Research activity
Interviews

No candidates will be admitted to the OSJSMUGME program without an interview. Candidates will be invited based on the minimum WGPA set for that year for the particular group to which they belong, combined with the results of the non-academic assessments and other eligibility criteria.
