CSL At the University of Ottawa, beyond the pursuit of academic excellence, our Class of 2023, English Class 5, is deeply engaged in community service, embodying compassion and zeal. We believe that education transcends the accumulation of knowledge; it's about applying what we have learned to make a tangible difference. By dividing into groups, we immerse ourselves in the community, planting gardens to enhance urban landscapes and volunteering at free stores to streamline the distribution of goods. Our most heartfelt contributions are at local charities, where we serve warm meals to the homeless, offering not just sustenance but a sense of belonging. Our commitment to community service is a testament to our values and our aspiration to contribute positively to society. Cooking&Food The dorms at the University of Ottawa are well-equipped, though the communal kitchens need to be shared. Most students opted to shop and cook their own meals in groups. Over the course of a week, not only did the students' overall cooking skills improve, their independence and self-reliance also increased. Their ability to coordinate, cooperate, and communicate with each other was also enhanced. This unique experience is one of the valuable takeaways the study abroad program has provided the students! More details can be found in the accompanying images. After School Activities city walks in Ottawa are also a unique experience. Whether it's the ByWard Market in the city center or the pathways along the Rideau Canal, every corner of Ottawa is filled with charming scenery and historical ambiance.
