Five people from SJTUSM were selected for the 14th batch of national "one thousand talents program" youth program

On February 8, the special office for the introduction of overseas high-level talents of the central committee announced the 14th batch of national “one thousand talents plan” youth projects. After formal examination, communication review, interview review, public notice, review and approval, five candidates from the SJTUSM were selected, including Li huabin and Yang wen from the basic medical school, Liu jinyao, Yang Yang, Han da from Renji Hospital. 

A total of 3,556 people have applied for the “thousand talents plan” youth project. 630 have been listed on the public list, and 609 have been selected. Shanghai Jiao Tong University has 25 talents selected, ranking the fifth in China, including 5 from school of medicine. 

“One thousand plan” project of youth is short for “young overseas high-level talents introduction plan”, by the ministry of education, ministry of science and technology, human resources and social security, the Chinese academy of sciences, Chinese academy of engineering, natural science foundation jointly set up a platform, overseas high-level talents introduction work under the guidance of special office. It requirescandidates no more than 40 years old, Ph.D., and formal teaching or research positionexperience in overseas well-known colleges and universities, scientific research institutions or well-known enterprise research and development institutions. The program, officially launched in December 2010, is one of the country‘s top youth talent programs. So far, 27 young academics from the SJTUSM have been selected in the program.
