Manchester University delegation visits SJTUSM

A few days ago, the University of Manchester (UoM) vice-chancellor Professor Ian A Greer led a delegation of 12 people visited SJTUSM. Professor Chen Hongzhuan, vice president of SJTUSM delivered warm reception to the delegation, and had a friendly talk with them. Heads of basic medical school, department of science and technology development, department of international exchange and other departments and experts from related disciplines participated in the reception.

During the talks, Chen extended a warm welcome to the visit ofManchester delegation and introduced our basic situation and the achievements in the research field. Professor Greer said in a statement, the University of Manchester won the British government funding and would actively carry out international cooperation in the field of medical scientific research. He would enhance mutual understanding, and hoped that through this visit could establish substantial research collaboration with our relationship. Thereafter, the delegation, talked with our basic, clinical and public health experts about cancer research, rheumatism immunity, clinical trials, translational medicine, and health information technology. They also visited the Ruijin Hospital and Renji Hospital.

Through this visit, the two sides agreed to further expand the scope of exchanges, conducted in-depth scientific research cooperation and jointly contributed to the cause of health.
