The karolinska institute, Sweden, visits SJTUSM

On March 17, Professor Maria Masucci, vice President of international affairs, led a visit to SJTUSM from the karolinska institute in Sweden. President Chen Guoqiang, deputy dean of SJTUSM, Professor Chen Hongzhuan, and the head of the department of scientific research, international communication and basic medical school warmly received each other.

During the talks, the two sides reviewed the cooperation process and achievements of the two schools and exchanged views on the will of future cooperation. The vice President Massucci expressed his affirmation of the achievements made by the two sides, and hoped to take the opportunity of this meeting to deepen the cooperation in the field of medicine and expand the student exchange program of stomatology. At the same time, the karolinska institute has signed a cooperation agreement with the China national scholarship council, which will strengthen cooperation in the field of mutual visits between graduate students and young scientists. President Chen Guoqiang is highly sure of the achievements made by the two sides and said that we will continue to seek more effective ways to deepen cooperation and exchanges on the basis of existing cooperation. Then, both leaders to renew the “memorandum”, established the willingness to continue our cooperation and will according to the content of the memo, continue student exchange program, to strengthen the academic activities, cooperate, mutual benefit and win-win. At the same time, the vice President Massucci also warmly invited President Chen Guoqiang to visit Sweden in due course next year to promote bilateral cooperation.

According to the schedule, the karolinska delegation also visited Shanghai institute of hematology, Ruijin hospital, Shanghai Ninth people‘s hospital. The two sides agreed the resources and technical sharing aspects respectively from the translational medicine for in-depth communication.
